Thread Tape, also known as PTFE Tape (Polytetrafluoroethylene Tape) or Plumber’s Tape, is a thin, flexible sealing tape used to create a leak-proof seal on threaded pipe connections. It is widely used in plumbing, gas, and industrial applications to prevent leaks and ensure a secure fit between threaded joints.
Key Features:
✅ Material: PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) for superior sealing and lubrication
✅ Size Options: Available in various widths and lengths (e.g., 12mm x 10m, 19mm x 10m, 25mm x 10m)
✅ Temperature Resistance: Withstands high and low temperatures for hot and cold water systems
✅ Chemical Resistance: Resistant to water, gas, oil, acids, and most chemicals
✅ Non-Adhesive: Wraps securely around threads without sticking, making installation easy
✅ Flexible & Tear-Resistant: Ensures tight sealing even in high-pressure systems
Applications:
-
Plumbing (water supply and drainage systems)
-
Gas fittings and pipelines
-
Air compressors and pneumatic systems
-
Hydraulic systems and chemical processing
-
HVAC and refrigeration pipe connections
How to Use:
-
Clean the pipe threads to remove dirt or debris.
-
Wrap the thread tape clockwise around the male threads 3–6 times (depending on pipe size).
-
Press the tape firmly so it conforms to the threads.
-
Screw in the fitting tightly to create a leak-proof seal.
